It was usually made of rough clay or sometimes iron, with a round shape, wide opening, and one or two handles. The bottom was rounded or pointed to sit in hot coals. These pots were used to cook everyday foods like stews and porridge. Their design shows how people cooked and ate during that time, as cooking methods and ingredients slowly began to change.

This pot was found in the garbage dump that was cleaned out when they began construction on the Twin Towers in New York City in the mid 1960’s.

All items from Ancient Artifacts & Treasures, Inc, carry a lifetime guarantee of authenticity.

England Medieval Cooking Pot 1580s-1620 England Size is about 5.5 inches tall by 7 inches wide and weighing around 763 grams. The English cooking pot from around 1580 to 1620 was a simple, practical pot used over an open fire.
